Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli is set to miss the Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday and could also be ruled out of the north London derby against Tottenham on Sunday.

The winger is sidelined with a hamstring problem and is set to undergo further tests to determine the seriousness of the injury.

“He felt something in his hamstring and we need to do some further tests to assess if there’s any big damage,” Arteta said.

“He will be out for tomorrow. It’s a possibility (he will be available for Spurs), we need further tests.”

The Gunners make their return to Champions League football with a home clash against Dutch side PSV, and Arteta says there is plenty of excitement amond his young squad.

“It’s been a long time for the club since we have been in the competition and obviously it’s the first time for me as a manager as well, so I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.

“We’ve been chasing for it (Champions League football) and fighting for it and now we’ve got it.

“Now we have to make the most out of it, and it starts at home.”
