The Premier League will introduce semi-automated offside technology this weekend following non-live testing.
The technology will provide better placement of the virtual offside line, enhancing the speed of the process. It will also produce virtual graphics to ensure an enhanced experience for supporters in-stadium and those watching it broadcasted.
The Premier League has worked in collaboration with PGMOL and Genius Sports to develop the new semi-automated offside technology system.
It’s first use in a live situation will take place when Manchester City host Crystal Palace at 12:30 on Saturday 12th April.
