Mikel Arteta says he wants his Arsenal team ‘to make things interesting’ in the title race, as they host Brentford whilst their rivals Liverpool and Manchester City collide at Anfield.
It could be a crucial weekend in the Premier League title race, as Arsenal have the opportunity to go top of the table with a win against Brentford.
Mikel Arteta’s men play nearly 24 hours before Liverpool and Manchester City clash, making it a rare opportunity for Arsenal to take the ascendancy and apply pressure to their rivals in the race.
The Arsenal boss says he is focused on their own games rather than the game at Anfield on Sunday.
“That’s the only thing we can control. Perform well and play better than them [Brentford]. If we do that on Sunday it’s a beautiful game to watch,” he said.
“Privately and publicly I have no preference because it’s nothing to do with me.
“I will probably be watching it with my kids.
Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford at home last season, so they’ll be looking to avenge that on Saturday and keep their momentum in the race for the title.
“We have to keep going and just try to make things interesting.”
