Goals from Bruno Guimaraes and Nick Woltemade were enough to see Newcastle win all three points and double down on Ange Postecoglou and Nottingham Forest’s misery. Guimaraes opened the scoring with a terrific effort from outside the box in the 58th minute, with Woltemade doubling the hosts’ lead from the penalty spot in the 84th. Ange Postecoglou remains winless as Forest’s manager after seven games, while Eddie Howe and Newcastle make it two wins on the bounce with consecutive clean sheets. Forest just never really looked as though they would get off to the races here today, and Postecoglou’s reign remains winless bar a late comeback.

Moments after Thiaw nearly doubles the lead for Newcastle, Barnes finds himself one-on-one with Sels, who makes himself big and manages to save the Englishman’s effort. That might have just kept Forest in the game here.

Morato is booked after taking down Elanga just outside the penalty area. This is a dangerous area for Forest, and Newcastle will look to capitalise from this set piece.

Newcastle are definitely going for a second here, and are piling on the pressure on Forest. Postecoglou will be hoping that triple substitution will help his team get back into the game, but Newcastle are looking the more likely to score at the moment.
