England head coach Thomas Tuchel is hopeful striker Ollie Watkins has not suffered a bad injury after colliding with the post in the win over Wales.

The Aston Villa striker scored his side’s second goal of the game in the 3-0 win after club team-mate Morgan Rogers had opened the scoring for the Three Lions.

But Watkins was forced off after slamming into the post when trying to divert a cross into the back of the net.

Tuchel, however, says he does not think there is anything serious.

“He’s okay, it was a clear goal normally for him,” he said.

“Unfortunately he saw the ball too late and crashed into the post.

“I think it was very, very painful but as I understood now it’s only painful so no harm done.”
