Jurgen Klopp was delighted with Liverpool’s grit as they turned the game around in the final minutes to beat Fulham 4-3 at Anfield.
Liverpool led twice before falling behind with ten minutes to go as the away side battled hard and gave Klopp’s side a stern test.
But Wataru Endo equalised with a beautiful curing effort in the 87th minute, before Trent Alexander-Arnold won the game moments later to send the Kop crazy, and Klopp could not hide his smile after the thrilling victory.
“The feeling after the game is exceptional. During the game, slightly different in moments”, said Klopp.
“We changed system a couple of times and we worked out. That’s not always the case. Outstanding experience. I don’t think anyone before the game thought it would be a game you’d never forget. You’re welcome.
“I never saw a game with so many worldies. Macca’s been doing it in training. Trent’s free-kick was unbelievable. Wataru was so important. He was really good. Then Trent makes it a brace. I didn’t actually see it go in.”
One downside for the hosts was the injury to Joel Matip in the second half and the Liverpool boss confirmed it did not look good.
“We lost Joel today. No scan yet but it won’t be a short one. We have to get through this”, Klopp confirmed.
“Joel will be put for a while, we have to find a specific mood and mentality to get into the next game.”
