Pep Guardiola insists he is not thinking about Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League after his Manchester City side were beaten by Aston Villa.
City are now six points behind the league leaders after the Gunners picked up all three points against Crystal Palace.
But a positive Guardiola believes his City side can fight for the title this season despite losing their third game of the campaign.
“We have try to close (the gap),” he said. “Arsenal have been solid for many years.
“I’m concerned with how we can improve as a team and to be close. From my experience it’s (the season) so long. This my experience.
“There are many teams there. Bournemouth are doing really well and the other ones, and we’ll try to do our game.
“I was worried before the international break when we were 14th in the table.
“Listen, our job is not to look at the table. If they win all their games and win the Premier League, congratulations.
“But I have the feeling that the team is alive, the team is good. I don’t know how many teams can play here and play the way that we played with the courage, the possession and the chances and concede less expected goals and these kinds of things.
“We have to do little details better but I don’t live in October and November thinking what is going to happen if we don’t win the Premier League. It’s game by game.”
Matty Cash scored the only goal of the game for Villa but Guardiola says his team deserved more for their performance.
“I’m not going to tell you because we didn’t come back, it’s bad,” he said. “The spirit in the second half was really, really good. They defended well and we could not break them (down).”

Hi ! “Gooners” d way “Guadiorla” ‘s making his comment, ‘s seems he ‘s making it out of “Bitterness and jealous” his previous comment laid claimed that it was because “Arteta” buying many players, now laying claim d season ‘s still long, Yeah !he may be right, it looks like “Season film” but before u call Jack season already finished, it looks like that before they know it “Arsenal” has already wins it
Pep is tired and must be retired as quick as possible before he collapse the interest most supporters have
Pep has seen and conceded defeat before the final whistle. But I pray Arsenal remain the way they are No complacency
congratulations to the Gooners if they have already won the Premier league as per your opinion. Guardiola has not feelings with Asernal’s good performance. A good team deserves it all. His words are very clear ” if they win all games good performance ” Remember this is the time Asernal play good then…. you know better. Remember the game if full of injuries. Let’s go till the end and see the outcome.
He is frustrating & demoralising us (arsenal players & fans). But, let him feel the pressure.
Liverpool has not built the team in a good form upon the new players, we’ll, it is just October, nobody knows the injury condition later on, if everything keeps the same like now, don’t think Guadiorla’s team can win any trophy in this season
he meant the truth ,arsenal has to keep the ball rolling ,win ,win and win until the season come to end, any drop of points matters
Pep you made us lose that game because of your experiment, DOKU, Gonzalez, Nico O’Reilly all were benched, you start your children as if villa is a small team like Swansea no no no your line up was totally wrong
Wrong indeed the first 11 was but it’s still a long way to go not just for Arsenal only but all term. Let’s see how the next 8 to 10 games turn out to be.
