Pochettino: Broja potential huge but he needs to smile more

Mauricio Pochettino has said he is amazed by the potential that Armando Broja possesses but his body language needs to improve.

Broja helped Chelsea on their way to a 4-0 win over Preston North End in the FA Cup third round after he opened the scoring with a superb glancing header.

The striker has been blighted by injuries this season, but this will be a massive confidence booster for Broja who will be looking for more regular game time.

After the game, Pochettino said that he was delighted with Broja’s contribution to the game and highlighted the potential that the striker has to offer. However, Pochettino asked that the striker smile more and enjoy the football that he is playing.

Pochettino said: “This is really important for him, but I need to be honest I think he needs to use these types of games as chance to score and to improve.

“And improve not only in his fitness, or his work ethic but his body language also. To step up and to move forward he needs to smile more and be a little bit more positive. This is the way he needs to improve his game.

“The potential is amazing. We are talking about one of the youngest strikers here in England and in Europe.”
