Everton boss David Moyes: “Jarrad [Branthwaite] is getting closer but he’s not quite there yet. Hopefully we get him back because he’s a huge player for us. No idea but I think it will be a few weeks [until he returns].
“We’ve got a concern about Iliman Ndiaye, he’s got a knock and we don’t know how he’ll be for tomorrow.
“Myko’s [Vitalii Mykolenko] around, hopefully he might be ok.”
Glasner also revealed Adam Wharton, Ismaila Sarr, and Eddie Nketiah are unavailable against Sunderland this weekend.
“Fortunately, all the international players came back healthy and fit so that everybody of them is available. The injured players are progressing very well.
“At the moment it looks like Adam Wharton, Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah are available at least against Liverpool, so in two weeks.
“Tomorrow none of them are available. Millwall [EFL Cup], none of them is available, maybe Adam and Eddie have a chance for West Ham.”
“I didn’t have to threaten anybody. There were no bad tensions between the chairman and myself. It was really just a discussion about sports, and he decided against the money and for the sporting perspective of Crystal Palace. So again, big credit to the chairman, and the same big credit to Marc, who handled it very well.
“We [Glasner and Guehi] talked on deadline day. We talked the day after deadline day, when he was already in the England camp and was always very honest. Everybody could see how he played for England, that he’s 100% focused, the same here.
“And it was written [in media] that he steps back as our captain. Nothing true. He will be our captain as long as he’s here, because he’s just such a great player and such a great personality and so much noise. That is the truth.”

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner fires back at reports that he threatened to leave Crystal Palace should Marc Guehi have been sold to Liverpool.
“I never threatened to leave the club, never.
“At the end of many discussions it was the chairman who asked me ‘Oliver, do you think we can manage the season when we sell Marc?’ I said ‘honestly we can’t manage it in the short-term’
“If we buy a 19 year old, fantastic player with about 1000 minutes in the league and sell our captain with about 15,000 minutes in the Premier League. I think we can’t manage it short term. And if then we have three centre-backs and with our schedule, and if we have an injury in the back three. I think it’s very, very risky.
“If you want this scenario for Crystal Palace and you are fine with it. Sell Marc, if you don’t want to have this, then we have to keep him. And then he decided we keep him.”

Thomas Frank on Spurs’ injuries, Daniel Levy’s departure, leaving Mathys Tel out of his Champions League squad and more…
The big news a few days ago was that Thomas Frank had decided to leave Mathys Tel out of his UCL squad, and he explained why.
“It was an extremely difficult decision to make. In many ways it was a bit unfair. The UEFA Champions League lists are not big enough. We know that the load on players is getting bigger and bigger.
“We are hoping to play 60+ games – that’s without international games. So some of the players can be involved in up to 70 games. We need bigger squads. I can’t understand why we need to limit ourselves.”
After a lot of speculation around which goalkeeper will start against Manchester City, Amorim has confirmed it will definitely be Altay Bayindir.
“Altay is going to continue. It is a different league, a different country, different training, different ball. So we will try to maintain that and they will fight for the position but for me in this game is clear, Altay will start.”
On Lammens, Amorim said: “He is a goalkeeper with a lot of potential. I know that we are in a moment where the goalkeeper needs to be really strong and have a lot of experience.
“We are also in the moment where we have to look at the present but also with a focus on the future – so it is a little bit of both. He’s a guy with a great potential that is one more option [for us] to play, and he will be ready.”
Ruben Amorim was asked why Andre Onana had to leave Man Utd and said the keeper had some ‘bad luck’, even though he was working hard.
“I think we understood that this needed a change and sometimes it is hard to point out why. Sometimes it is the moment, the bad luck in some moments.
“It is hard on him, on us. Our thinking is to have a change in the goalkeepers but I wish the best for Andre Onana.
“He was really good at working and trying to help the players, but sometimes you can have all the quality in the world but you need a change.”
Ruber Amorim has – somewhat surprisingly – said he thinks Man Utd are better as a team now than they were when they beat Manchester City in December.
“I think we are a better team. If you see any aspect of the data we are a different team. We are ready to play the game but we have to show on Sunday. So I think we are a better team today.
“We believe in our team and I have that feeling. It will be a very good game. We know what to do. I have one more training. The table in the moment it doesn’t matter. I just worry about maintaining the same principles. The way we fight for every ball.”
A blow for Spurs with Dominic Solanke ruled out again.

Thomas Frank has exciting news for Spurs fans, remarking that both Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani are in contention to start against West Ham on Saturday.
“Both are looking good. Both are in contention to be ready for the squad tomorrow. Xavi for the natural reasons is further down the line. He started for the Netherlands the other day. Randal hasn’t played for a while, last time was the Club World Cup.”
Despite being at Tottenham for a number of months, Thomas Frank has admitted he still hasn’t decided upon his leadership group.
“It’s only my list on a big piece of paper and I must admit I haven’t done it yet. So the honest answer is no.”
Arteta has applauded Liverpool’s summer business, saying they signed the two most ‘decisive’ players in Europe.
“Well, they are the strongest for sure. They have recruited probably the most, the two most decisive players that there were in Europe in the market. And they’ve done really well to recruit that.”
On Bukayo Saka, Arteta said: “Bukayo is out. Still out and he is trying to get back as quick as possible.”
On Havertz, he said: “”He’s looking really good,” Arteta said. “He’s walking freely, and he’s starting to load that knee. It will take weeks to months, but knowing Kai, I cannot give you a timeline.”
On Piero Hincapie: “Yeah he’s ready to go. He’s trained two days with us, very successful at the end against Argentina.”
Arsenal centre-back Williams Saliba has been out injured since the Gunners’ defeat to Liverpool. He picked up an injury in the warm-up before the game, decided to play but only five minutes in found he could not continue.
But Mikel Arteta revealed the Frenchman trained today and could be in contention for the game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday: “William trained today, so we have a decision to make.”
Mikel Arteta says Bukayo Saka remains out for Arsenal this weekend but is working hard to return soon.
Ben White could come back in, however, while William Saliba has trained ahead of the clash with Nottingham Forest.
Ruben Amorim says Altay Bayindir will keep his place in goal against Manchester City, despite the signing of Senne Lammens.
“Altay is going to continue. It is a different league, a different country, different training, different ball. So we will try to maintain that and they will fight for the position but for me in this game is clear, Altay will start.”
Ruben Amorim says Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot will all miss the Manchester derby.
He could not provide any more information on how long they will be out for, however.

Pep Guardiola refutes Arne Slot’s claim that Alexander Isak is the best striker in the world. “Erling is a bit above… Isak must be a top player because of what Liverpool paid for him, obviously.”
The Spaniard went on to say that lots of people will have different opinions on who is the best: “Someone else will say Mbappe, someone Messi, someone Cristiano. That’s fine, it’s a game of opinions… I would not change Erling for anyone.”
Pep Guardiola says this weekend’s derby is huge for Man City: “We always have respect for our city rivals. The players came back yesterday in good (shape) and I’m looking forward to the game for our fans. I know how important it is.
“It’s a really important game for us to change the dynamic. I trust the players a lot and we’re going to do a good game.”
Man City have signed ten new players since January. Asked if it felt like he was starting over, Guardiola said: “I had hair ten years ago. I was younger. Ten years is a long time. It’s not the same. None of us are the same from ten years ago.
“The club decided after last season to take the first step to do it (a rebuild).”
