Arteta press conference

Watch Arteta’s full press conference here:

Wissa could play for Brentford

Brentford boss Keith Andrews did not rule out Yoane Wissa being involved for his side against Aston Villa.

“He’s been training with the team. I’ll make a decision on the squad tomorrow, but he’s been part of the group this week. He’s a Brentford player right now. My stance around Yoane all along is that I don’t want him to leave; that hasn’t changed.”

Nuno Espirito Santo casts doubt on relationship with Forest owner

Some interesting comments from Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo this afternoon, who says his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis is “not as close” as it previously was.

“I always had a very good relationship with the owner, last season we were very close and spoke on a daily basis.

“This season it is not so well [between us] but I always believe that dialogue is important because my concern is the squad and the season we have ahead of us. Our relationship has changed and we are not as close.

“I think everybody at the club should be together but this not the reality.”

Frank confident of Spurs signing

Frank says he is confident that Spurs will sign a player before the transfer window shuts.

He stresses he has not been “let down” by the lack of signings and that everyone is working as hard as possible to get bring players in.

Frank pledges faith in Richarlison

Frank stresses he wants to keep Richarlison at the club, after bagging a brace in last week’s win over Burnley.

“Right now he is my starting nine. He scored two top goals. Richy wants to stay, I want to keep him and there’s been no talks about anything else.”

Udogie not ready to return

Frank says Destiny Udogie has trained with the team but is not yet ready to return to face Man City.

Yves Bissouma is also out, while Dejan Kulusevski remains out for the long-term.

Frank only wants players who want to play for Spurs

Thomas Frank stresses he is “speaking generally” and not about any specific player, but that he “doesn’t want any players that don’t want to come to this club and wear this fantastic badge.”

Arteta on fitness of Arsenal duo

Mikel Arteta has also provided an update on the fitness of Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Jesus.

“With Jurrien, we have to manage his load because he has been out for a long time again. We have to manage his load and have decided to take his training down.

“Gabriel is doing super well. He looks in a really good place. Obviously it is a massive injury and he needs to come back in a really strong way but he is certainly in the right place.”

Amorim on Hojlund

Amorim says Rasmus Hojlund reacted “professionally” to being dropped last week and again hints that his future lies away from the club.

Amorim on unwanted players

Amorim on the players who are training separately from the main group: “I know that is not a good thing to have players in this situation but it’s clear they want to play in a different club and that is clear.”

Amorim: Onana not guaranteed to play

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim says Andre Onana is available to play against Fulham but would not comment on whether he would be involved.

“Onana is ready to play like last week, so we will see in the game who is going to be the goalkeeper. Licha (Martinez) is out, Nous (Mazraoui) is out. The rest of the guys are fit”

Gyokeres in a 'really good place'

Arteta says Viktor Gyokeres is in a “really good place” and is looking forward to seeing him in action again.

Arteta on Eze

Arteta is asked whether a player supporting Arsenal (like Ebere Eze) brings more benefits to his side: “The better the feeling, the stronger the feeling, then the better always because it brings a different edge, will and emotion to what you do and I think that always brings something extra.”

He says a player wanting to join Arsenal is the most important thing in whether or not to sign a player.

He wouldn’t comment on Eze specifically though: “Nothing to comment. I can never talk about any player that is not part of our group yet.”

Norgaard still out

Arteta confirms Christian Norgaard won’t be involved against Leeds due to injury.

Ben White is also a doubt.

Arteta on Havertz injury

Mikel Arteta says he wants more time before he comments on the extent of Kai Havertz’s knee injury.

“We don’t really know the extent of it. We need a bit more time and some more tests and after that we will have some more clarity.

“I prefer not to talk about the specifics but he is not fit. We need to explore this situation a bit further and decide what we are going to do.”

Bournemouth trying to sign a centre-back

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola says it is a top priority to sign a centre-back before the transfer window shuts.

“It is our main focus right now. We have to be aware of the market and try to improve in every position, but that is the focus of the club at the moment.”

Rodri needs 'consistency'

“I just want a consistent Rodri, that’s all. I don’t have any doubts about his quality.

“So far, he is still the best player in the world. In a few months we elect a new one, but he still is.

“He needs consistency, training, minutes, and after everything will be fine.”
