Arne Slot says he can understand the frustration of the Liverpool fans after his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Burnley.

Florian Wirtz had given the Reds a first-half lead after Dominik Szoboszlai missed a penalty, but Marcus Edwards struck in the second half to hand Burnley a point.

“If we as Liverpool are not disappointed anymore by having a draw at home against Burnley then something is completely wrong,” Slot said when asked about the frustrated reaction from supporters at Anfield after the game.

“I completely understand the frustration. I can tell you I have the same and the players definitely have the same frustration as the fans.”

Liverpool are now 12 games unbeaten and sit fourth in the Premier League, but have drawn the last four league games, and Slot says Liverpool’s standards should be higher than that.

“Of course we can talk about 12 in a row now without a loss but our standards are higher than not losing,” he said. “Our standards are winning every game.”
