Transfer Round-Up: Slot Liverpool spending spree as Arsenal target Italy sensation Calafiori

The summer transfer window is beginning to open up to some major activity as the European Championship nears an end and Premier League clubs resume training ahead of the new season.

There is plenty of speculation involving most clubs, but some are getting their business done early.

Arsenal have made their first and inevitable first move by preparing to announce the permanent £27M signing of goalkeeper David Raya, following his loan from Brentford last season. The Sun is also reporting their interest in Bologna and Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori.

Reigning champions Manchester City are expected to sign Brazil winger Savio on a five-year contract. The 20-year-old is already part of the City family having played at Girona last season.

Athletic Bilbao and Spain winger Nico Williams could be on his way to Liverpool despite interest from La Liga side Barcelona.

New Liverpool manager Arne Slot is also being strongly linked with an attempt to lure England winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United to Anfield in a £70m switch. More players are also said to be on Slot’s transfer radar.

West Ham United are confident they will be able to keep star man Mohammed Kudus at the club for at least another season after a July 1 deadline to match his release clause passed without them receiving a single bid.

Another big name staying put is Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford. The Daily Express is reporting that Erik ten Hag sees the forward as integral to his plans to challenge for the Premier League title again. Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood, however, are expected to depart Old Trafford within the next week.
