Thomas Tuchel says Harry Kane is fit to play against Latvia and can last the entire 90 minutes.

Kane missed England’s 3-0 friendly win over Wales with an ankle problem.

But the Bayern Munich forward is back available for the World Cup qualifier, with a win guaranteeing the Three Lions’ place in next year’s tournament.

“Harry [Kane] can play, he is fit,” Tuchel said. “We did the right thing. I don’t see why he should not be able to play 90 minutes. I don’t see any obstacles there.

“Ollie [Watkins] left camp unfortunately. It was too painful, he couldn’t train. He is in treatment with his club and is trying to prepare for the weekend.”

Tuchel also spoke of his encouragement with what he is seeing in his England side, ahead of their upcoming clash.

“I saw that [the team playing differently] even against Andorra at home,” he said.

“Maybe people outside expected more than 2-0 and underestimated the defensive performance.

“I saw the commitment in that game in the high press. A significant shift in our attitude and the way we wanted. We want to take the next step. I feel we’re building something and going in the right direction. Tomorrow we have to respect our opponents and the circumstances.”
