‘We are all in the same s***’ – Thomas Frank on the importance of managers sharing a drink after matches

Thomas Frank reveals the importance of managers sharing a drink after matches, saying: “We are all in the same s***.”

Tottenham travel to Everton this weekend in search of a much-needed win after a string of poor results in all competitions.

The Toffees are managed by David Moyes, a man Frank has grown close with since the pair were both pundits during Euro 2024.

“I do like my red wine, and he is also a decent drinker,” Frank said. “I also like his beers and his red wine.  He’s a very good guy, and I feel privileged to get to know him. 

“The first time I met him, we were in the Championship, and we played West Ham. I didn’t meet him before coming, but he stood out. He was just like an open-minded person to me.

“We worked at the Euros, and we had some good evenings together.”

The Dane was asked whether managers still share a drink with each other after matches – or if that is a tradition of the past.

“I will 100 percent go in and share a beer or a glass of red with David after the game,” he replied. “We always do that, and that I appreciate it.

“I think some do it, some don’t. I always invite coaches in, so they’re more than welcome. I think it’s important and it’s a fantastic tradition. 

“We are all in the same s***. There are only a few of us that actually understand each other. Even if we can be a little bit tense on the touchline, at the end of the day we understand each other.”

Thomas Frank was also full of praise for striker Randal Kolo-Muani who made his Premier League debut in Spurs’ loss to Aston Villa.

“I think he’s a very good finisher, he arrives in the right areas. He’s got a good ability to always take the ball with him.

“I’m excited about him. Of course, we need to build him day by day.”
