“Well coached and well drilled” – Klopp looks forward to Arsenal clash

Liverpool and Arsenal go head to head for the first time this season at Anfield in what could potentially be the game of the season

This weekend meeting between the top two in the Premier League is undoubtedly the biggest game of the campaign so far. As Liverpool sit one point behind the gunners in second.

Arsenal have not won a Premier League match at Anfield since 2012 and has endured some heavy beatings in that time. Even though Liverpool were held to a 0-0 against Manchester United in their previous Premier League game he expects this game against the league leaders Arsenal to be a tougher test.

Klopp said: “We play a super strong team. They are even better than last season. It’s a massive game, great. It’s great to meet them. We have to make sure we make it a proper home game, a proper Anfield experience. They were outstanding until we found a way into the game I can remember Ibou Konate chance though”, Klopp said.

The Reds have finished as runners-up on two occasions during Klopp’s reign in 2019 and 2022 and will be hoping they can go on a strong title charge this season.

Arsenal led the way in the Premier League title race last season for a very long time, but they fell short towards the end to Manchester City. During the summer transfer window they went out and bought some reinforcements to challenge for the title once again this season with the additions of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and the Liverpool boss is very impressed the way the team are set up.

Klopp said: “They looked like that last year. Our game here with them, they were outstanding until we found a way into the game. In the end, we should have won it. They bring in Rice and Havertz, that doesn’t make you worse. They have a good mix of physicality and technique. They are well-coached, well-drilled”, said the Liverpool boss.
