When is the UCL knockout phase playoff draw and how to watch it

The group stage of the Champions League is over, eight teams have qualified automatically and 16 teams will be entered into the draw for the playoff round.

This draw takes place on Friday 30 January at 11am UK time and involves clubs such as Real Madrid, Inter Milan, PSG, Newcastle, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, amongst others.

How to watch?

The draw will be streamed live by UEFA on their website.

Viewers in the UK can also watch via the Champions League app.

Who could teams draw?

Real Madrid (9th) or Inter Milan (10th) will be drawn against either Bodo/Glimt (23rd) or Benfica (24th).

Paris Saint-Germain (11th) or Newcastle United (12th) will be drawn against either Monaco (21st) or Qarabag (22nd).

Juventus (13th) or Atletico Madrid (14th) will be drawn against either Club Brugge (19th) or Galatasaray (20th).

Atalanta (15th) or Bayer Leverkusen (16th) will be drawn against either Borussia Dortmund (17th) or Olympiacos (18th).

Other things to know

Teams from the same league can play each other.

The teams who finished ninth-16th will be seeded. The teams who finished 17th-24th are unseeded. Seeded teams play the second-leg of their ties at home.

Dates

First legs will be played on February 17 and 18.

Second legs will be played on February 24 and 25.
