A team’s luck with injuries can make or break a season, and some clubs have already found it tough to deal with missing key players so far this campaign.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently labelled the last eight weeks “an absolute nightmare” because of injury and fitness problems, while Man City manager Pep Guardiola has also admitted injuries are hampering his side.
But which teams have been the most, and least, affected this season?
Number of injuries where a player has missed one or more game(s)
According to analysis from Sky Sports, Tottenham have had the most injuries resulting in a player missing at least one game this season with 13 separate cases.
Brighton and Ipswich are tied for second with 12, while Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have both had 11 instances.
Arsenal and Manchester City, meanwhile, have both had 10.
Liverpool have fared better with injuries, suffering only seven cases, as have Manchester United.
Chelsea have had significant injury problems over the past couple of seasons but are among the clubs to have fared the best this season with only five cases.
There should be concern for struggling West Ham, however, who despite their poor start have had a league low two cases of a player missing one or more games through injury.
Days lost to injury
When it comes to actual days lost in total through injuries this season, it is Brighton who rank at the top with a cumulative 397 days.
Newly promoted Ipswich Town are second with 340 days and Crystal Palace are third with 319 days.
Then comes Arsenal, who have missed captain Martin Odegaard for much of the season, with 297 days.
Tottenham players have missed a total of 273 days and just behind them are Manchester City and Liverpool with 243 and 228 days respectively.
Manchester United players have missed 171 days through injuries while Chelsea have the sixth-best record with only 151 days.
Again, the best record for this statistic belongs to West Ham, with 84 days.
