Chelsea have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic to Bournemouth.

The Serbian shot-stopper joins the Cherries on a five-year deal for a reported £25m, having spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 club Strasbourg.

Petrovic had established himself as first-choice goalkeeper at Chelsea under former boss Mauricio Pochettino but fell out of favour under Enzo Maresca following the signing of Filip Jorgensen.

“I’m really happy to be here,” he told Bournemouth after completing his move to the south coast club.

“I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and I want to play at the best level.

“Together with this club, with these facilities, I think we can achieve it. I want to help the team get the results, improve every day and be a better player.”

He joined Chelsea from New England Revolution in the summer of 2023 and made 31 appearances in his first season with the Blues.

Petrovic becomes the latest player to leave the club, following the departure of Mathis Amougou to Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg last week, while young defender Zak Sturge has also joined Millwall on a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, Noni Madueke is soon set to complete his £52m move to Arsenal.
