That’s all from us! Thanks for following tonight’s action.
Watch the FULL reaction from Pep Guardiola after tonight’s win here:
More reaction from Pep Guardiola on another Haaland record and Foden’s impress form after beating Napoli.
Pep Guardiola insists there is no worry over Rodri after the midfielder came off in tonight’s win.
Napoli boss Antonio Conte: “Honestly I did not see the situation. When you have a red card after 20 minutes you are dressing the game in one way. The game was ruined because of this red card. I don’t know if it was right. The referee got the decision and we have to accept it.”
Pep Guardiola on Man City’s victory over Napoli: “We play a lot of minutes against 10 men. Italian teams are unbelievable [at defending]. I’ve faced them many many times in the Champions League. The resilience, the focus…I admire them so much.
“I’m very pleased. It’s been a tough week and we have an incredibly tough challenge on Sunday [against Arsenal] but we are going there with a good feeling.”
Phil Foden on another goal for striker Erling Haaland: “Erling [Haaland] is always going to make that run. It’s just about getting that connection. He seems to break every record going. It’s unheard of what he’s doing. What an unbelievable player.”
The referee’s whistle ends a game that has been devoid of any jeopardy for the final half an hour.
Perhaps it would have been a better display from Napoli without the red card but they were ultimately disappointing on the night. A routine and comfortable victory for City.
Reijnders, Gvardiol and Haaland are replaced by Lewis, Ake and Bobb.
The game has been over since the second goal went in.
Anguissa, Hojlund and Lobotka are taken off.
On come Elmas, Nerea and Gilmour.
Doku is the next man to take a seat, with City’s lead feeling secure.
Savinho replaces him.
City double their lead, courtesy of Doku.
The Belgian weaves through the Napoli defence in great style before firing low into the opposite corner.
With a trip to the Emirates on Sunday looming, Guardiola takes Rodri off.
Nico Gonzalez is on for the final half an hour.
City have the breakthrough and of course it comes from Haaland.
A brilliant chipped ball through from Foden and the Norwegian heads home.
Politano is now withdrawn and replaced by Juan Jesus.
A wide midfielder substitutes for a centre-back gives a fairly clear portayal of Napoli’s ambitions.
Politano blatantly drags back Doku to srop him driving forwards.
Now wearing the captain’s armbans, the Italian is shown a yellow card.
The second half has begun with Napoli almost immediately setting up camp on the edge of their own box.
City are attacking with a renewed sense of urgency. The longer it stays goalless the more confidence it will give the Napoli defence.
Anguissa takes the kick off for the visitors.
We are underway in the second half.
The first half ends at 0-0, a result which will certainly please the visitors more than the hosts.
City have dominated and pushed for the opener throughout. Although they have come close on a couple of occasions, they have failed to create any major opportunities.
Napoli have not threatened at all during the first half and will certainly be content with a point following their early red card.
The Napoli goalkeeper has just produced two top class saves in quick succession to keep the score level.
The first a header from O’Reilly and the second a header from Gvardiol.
Guardiola’s side are continuing to search for the opening goal.
They are moving the ball well but still cannot carve out any clear-cut opportunities against a resolute Napoli defence.
Following the red card, de Bruyne is the man sacrificed by Conte. He is replaced by Olivera.
After so much anticipation the Belgian does not even make it to half-time on his return to the Etihad.
Napoli captain Di Lorenzo is shown a red card after a VAR check.
The right-back brings Haaland down as the last man just outside the penalty area and he is now sent off.
With Haaland bearing down on goal he is prevented by a sliding challenge.
The referee has been sent to the monitor to check.
Donnarumma reacts well to produce an impressive stop and deny Spinazzola’s header.
The flag later goes up for offside.
