Chelsea have spent over £1 billion on transfers since Todd Boehly’s ownership group took over the club in 2022.
The club have undoubtedly regressed under their current ownership, currently sitting 11th in the Premier League with any faint hopes of European football slipping away and have only the FA Cup left to play for.
Mauricio Pochettino is already the fourth manager of the Boehly era and is facing an uphill struggle to turn this squad into a team that the fans can believe will challenge for the Premier League title in the future.
We’ve assessed all of the main signings made by Chelsea in the last two seasons based on their impact so far…
MOISES CAICEDO – £115 MILLION
The subject of a fierce transfer battle last summer. Chelsea fought off Liverpool for his signature but the midfielder is yet to show the form his price tag demands. Every mistake is magnified, the price-tag feels like a heavy load and the 22-year-old has to show more if he is to deliver on that fee. D
ENZO FERNANDEZ – £106.8 MILLION
The World Cup winner that came to be one of the main focuses of this Chelsea rebuild hasn’t really made his mark yet. On paper, the partnership of Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher should be helping him, but Enzo is yet to really stand out in a Chelsea shirt consistently and has not impacted games enough. D
MYKHAYLO MUDRYK – £88.5 MILLION (including add-ons)
Chelsea fans celebrated when they scuppered Arsenal’s attempts to sign Mudryk to bring him to Stamford Bridge. But after over a year at the club, he is being used as an impact sub and has scored just twice since October. With an eight-year-contract, he has plenty of time to turn it around but looks incredibly raw. E
WESLEY FOFANA – £75 MILLION
One of the Premier League’s most promising centre backs at Leicester, Fofana has had the last three years of his career ravaged by injuries. A defender with confidence and quality that would have helped lift the burden off Thiago Silva’s shoulders. Not enough game time to make a judgement. C
ROMEO LAVIA – £58 MILLION
Another promising talent who has had a battle to stay fit. He hasn’t started a competitive game for Chelsea yet so no judgement can really be made. C
MARC CUCURELLA – £56 MILLION
A part of Chelsea’s spending spree for Brighton talent, where he shone during his one season on the south coast. Failed to impress so far and has looked really vulnerable defensively when he has played. E

Nkunku looked very promising during pre-season only to see his start to life at Chelsea scuppered by injury. Still getting up to speed following his time out and needs more time to show what he can do. C
RAHEEM STERLING – £50 MILLION
Sterling left Manchester City in pursuit of more game time but has failed to make the impact he did while playing for the reigning Premier League champions. As one of the only senior players with the experience of playing at the highest level, his impact has been really disappointing. D
COLE PALMER – £48 MILLION
A player who was on the fringes at Manchester City but is showcasing his star quality in his debut season at Stamford Bridge. Ten goals and six assists in 21 Premier League games so far and at 21-years-old there is no doubt more to come. A
AXEL DISASI – £38.8 MILLION
Disasi has had his nervy moments but has started to look more confident in recent weeks. Could turn out to be a decent signing but needs to keep showing consistency. C
BENOIT BADIASHILE – £35 MILLION
Looked promising last season but his individual errors this season have been glaring. D
KALIDOU KOULIBALY – £33 MILLION
Failed to impress and was allowed to leave after just one season at the club. F

Has led the line for much of this season but is really raw. More known for his glaring misses than the goals he does score and has a lot of improving to do. D
NONI MADUEKE – £30 MILLION.
Struggled to find consistency this season and has been in and out of the team under Pochettino. Not made much of an impact so far but has the talent to turn things around. D
MALO GUSTO – £26.3 MILLION
Has been a real bright spark in another disappointing season for Chelsea in the absence of Reece James at right-back. Still needs to cut out some moments of poor judgement but looks really promising. B
ROBERT SANCHEZ – £25 MILLION.
Signed as the first-choice goalkeeper but made way too many mistakes and looks to have lost his place to Djordje Petrovic. E
LESLEY UGOCHUKWU – £23.2 MILLION. C
A young player who has not played enough to be able to make a definitive judgement.
CARNEY CHUKWUEMEKA. £20 MILLION. C
Injuries have hampered his time at Chelsea but has looked bright when he has played.
DJORDJE PETROVIC. £14 MILLION. B
A young goalkeeper whose early displays have been really encouraging.
