‘Give us a break!’ – Jurgen Klopp responds to rumours of more Liverpool exits

Jurgen Klopp has reassured supporters following suggestions of players exiting Liverpool at the end of the season alongside their beloved manager.

Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk raised eyebrows when asked about the future of the club, following the news that Jurgen Klopp was leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

“That’s’s a big question well I don’t know. The club will have a big job on their hands, many things will change. I am very curious which direction that will go in,” Van Dijk said.

Klopp left the football world stunned when the news was revealed of his incoming departure from Liverpool after eight-and-a-half years. This has led to increased speculation on stars such as Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah sticking around for the new era.

But their boss was quick to shut-down any worries for Liverpool fans about a possible exodus coming in the summer.

“It’s completely normal. It’s clear the outside world will not give you a second to process. A week ago no-one knew about my situation and they still had 18 months on their contracts, no-one asked. No one has to worry,” he said.

“Give us a break, give the boys a break. I knew this would happen, Virg didn’t go out and say ‘by the way what I want to say’, it’s all about the questions.

“Write what you want, the club is stable. Everything will be fine, I’m 100% sure. I would recommend to stay calm.”

Liverpool fans will be preparing for a Premier League farewell tour to start with Chelsea at Anfield, an inevitably emotional occasion.

“Very often the fans’ concerns are not as big as the media might think. You underestimate the IQ of our supporters I think, they know these things come up,” said Klopp.

“We are in this season. All this talk could be a part of a possible destruction of this season, but all seasons are the same. The boys have to think about things that’s human right.

“Before you make decisions you must think.”
