Carlton Cole has told Hayters TV about the time that former England strikers Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe tricked him into taking Viagra while on international duty.
The former West Ham forward made seven appearances for England during his career and speaking to Des Kelly on Football Lives, recalled the time he was pranked into “training with a boner” by Three Lions legend Rooney and Defoe.
Cole had forgotten the vitamins he would regularly take during his career and was told by Rooney and Defoe that they had some he could use, which instead turned out to be Viagra.
“I didn’t know about Viagra in those days,” Cole explained.
“Mate, I got to the training ground and I’m thinking ‘what’s going on?
“I started training and thought ‘this doesn’t feel right’. Everyone was cracking up in the training session and just laughing. Everyone could see the bulge and I couldn’t even hide it!”
