Kulusevski excited by return of Tottenham’s injured players

Spurs man Dejan Kulusevski says he is excited by the prospect of Tottenham’s injured players returning to action.

Ange Postecoglou’s side sit fifth in the Premier League and made it through to the FA Cup fourth round with a 1-0 win over Burnley on Friday night thanks to a late goal from Pedro Porro.

Spurs have been blighted by injuries to key players this season including James Maddison, Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven and several others including Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Alejo Veliz.

They are also currently without talisman Heung-Min Son due to his involvement in the Asian Cup, as well as starting midfield duo Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr who are away playing at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“It’s very important,” Kulusevski said when asked about injured players returning.

“Rodri is back (Bentancur), Sess (Sessegnon) came back today and played good, Micky (Van de Ven) is back so we’re very happy.

“We need players back because if you’re not on the pitch you cannot help the team.

“That’s the most important thing for us, to get players back as soon as possible.”
