WATCH: Southgate responds to reports linking him with Man Utd job

Gareth Southgate has slammed the reports linking him to the Manchester United job as “completely disrespectful”.

The England manager has been linked to Erik ten Hag’s job, with ESPN claiming he is high on the list of candidates to replace the Dutchman should new part owner of the club Sir Jim Ratcliffe opt to make a change.

But Southgate hit back at the reports, saying: “There are two things from my view. One is I’m the England manager. I’ve got one job basically, to try and deliver a European Championship.

“Clearly, before that, two important games this week.

“And the second thing is Manchester United have a manager and I think it’s always completely disrespectful when there’s any speculation about a manager that’s in place.

“I’m president of the LMA (League Managers’ Association) so I don’t have any time for that sort of thing really.”

Southgate also confirmed captain Harry Kane would miss the game against Brazil on Saturday and was unlikely to feature against Belgium next week.
